Charleston Lightning Fleet Member Wins Club 420 National Championship

Carter Cameron, son of John Cameron, won the Club 420 National Championship this past weekend in Wisconsin. Carter's crew was Ian Dilling, of Mount Pleasant. They posted finishes of 1-11-8-7 to win by five points over the second place boat from the host club, Lake Geneva Yacht Club. Sixty crews from across the US competed. Carter, 16, is a rising Junior at Wando High School, and is the "A" skipper on the sailing team. He's employed by the College of Charleston Sailing Center as a dock hand. Carter has both crewed and skipped in local Lightning events.

NEW DATES for 2013 Wild Oyster Regatta

We've moved the 2013 Wild Oyster Regatta to November 9-10, 2013, with an informal afternoon on the water clinic / practice hosted by Greg Fisher on November 8 starting around 2 p.m.

We changed the dates for the regatta to avoid conflicts with the Annapolis Frigid Digit, the Championship of Champions in Columbia and the Bluenose in Tennessee.

In 2014, the regatta will likely be on the 4th weekend in October.  We'll announce the date for 2014 after consulting with the other fleets.

Thank you for your support.  We've had 37 and 39 boats the past 2 years and are looking forward to another great regatta in 2013.
